The Austin Flute Choir was established in 1991 as part of the Austin Flute Club. The Flute Choir, which currently includes 15 adult members, performs repertoire ranging from classical music to popular and folk tune arrangements. In 2007 the Austin Flute Choir performed the world-premiere of “Hill Country Sketches” by Catherine McMichael at the National Flute Association Convention in Albuquerque.
Meet the Conductor
Lisa Lamb has been conducting flute ensembles since 2003. She began performing in flute ensembles in 1999 and has played with the National High School Flute Choir, Indian Hill Flute Choir and Chamber Choir, New England Conservatory Summer Flute Orchestra and Select Ensemble, Penn State Flute Ensemble, Nashua Flute Choir, and Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School Flute Choir.
Lisa earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Flute Performance and Composition from Penn State University. She is currently working towards a Master of Music degree in Harp Performance from the University of Texas at Austin. For more information, please visit www.silverwingsmusic.com
How to Join
Would you like to join the Flute Choir? We rehearse on Sunday afternoons from 2-4pm in North Austin. A short audition is required to make sure that the Flute Choir is a good match for your playing level.
